This book is filled with magnificent images and tells a very sweet, inspiring tale. It can be used to teach children the concept that each of us contributes to this earth in our own unique way and we each have our own special light to bring to the world.This book will make a lovely gift for any child---especially one who needs a confidence boost or a reminder that he/she is loved just as s/he is.My kids especially enjoy how some of the rhyming phrases repeat themselves throughout the story. It creates a playful, whimsical flow and makes it more interactive and fun for kids to read and memorize. I'd recommend it as a nice book for early readers.This lovely story is about a unique butterfly who sees the beauty and strength in other creatures she encounters, but, initially, doesn't recognize what makes her special. Through her journey, over land and sea, she meets colorful and exotic creatures, eventually embracing her own uniqueness and learning to recognize her own beauty. I never knew the glass winged butterfly existed (it is an actual type of butterfly!). How novel to think of using this concept within a children's book!
This book is an enchanting piece of literature that is full of rich vocabulary, gorgeous illustrations, and a redeeming message about being true to yourself. I am a teacher and I read this book to my first grade class today. They were absolutely captivated and we were able to have several conversations about the underlying message. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to any parent, teacher, guardian, etc. looking for a meaningful read-aloud to share with the littles in their life. It's a great message for adults, too! :)

The Glasswinged Butterfly is a beautifully told story of a butterfly's journey to find more colors, and then realizing that being themselves is the best gift of all. My 3.5 year old was spellbound by the stunning illustrations, and the lyrical language. Cannot recommend this book enough for children of all ages!
This book arrived two days ago and my son has asked for it four times already! Thankfully, its words flow with rhyme and rhythm that make it fun to read and the illustrations tell a story of their own that captures my son's imagination. The positive and encouraging theme throughout the book make it an easy decision to read it anytime my son asks for it.
