Goldenlocks happens along and climbs aboard, but instead of leaving the usual trail of destruction in her wake, she manages to remedy, repair, and mend all that she encounters. When the fierce pirate family returns, it is to a noticeably improved ship. They happily invite Goldenlocks to join their crew and together they set off on more adventures. The delightfully cheery and detailed full-bleed illustrations fill each page with color and excitement. Nautical lingo and a hearty sprinkling of "Piratese" add to the amusement of reading the story aloud and a handy "Pirate Glossary" in the back helps to alleviate any possible confusion. What a fun book to read out loud in your very best pirate voice! Imagine the 3 bears but now they are a pirate family without a crew. Fun, colorful images.
One of my favorite versions of Goldilocks, awesome because the heroine is capable and helpful (as opposed to a selfish thief). We love the sea slang and wonderful illustrations. The only disappointment is that the mama pirate is apparently responsible for all the cooking and housework... 🙄

Arrived quickly! Love the fun rhyming story! My daughter enjoyed the book and we’ve already read it twice! A great take on the three bears stories! Now I need to get another copy for my classroom! Fun story!!
Full disclosure-I won a copy of Goldenlocks in a pre-order campaign for another FS&G book pre-order campaign, but posting a review was totally my idea. First, the illustrations are terrific-lots of detail and gave it a bit older kid vibe, which is really cool and widens the age range. The story is very much a fractured fairy tale take on the 3 Bears but c'mon, pirates?!! It's got to be fun, and proves to be a riotous romp through life on a pirate ship, and kids will love it.The story is solid, and the Pirate Glossary will charm and inform all ages. Enjoy!
